Ink Leveler

A device added to the ink fountain of some offset presses that uses an ultrasonic sensor to monitor the level of the ink in the fountain. When the ink level reaches a certain depth, the device automatically triggers a pneumatic pump to add more, removing the need for manual inspection and refilling. An ink leveler (also called a fountain height monitor) is most commonly used on presses for printing cartons.
