Large-Scale Integration

In computer microprocessor manufacturing, term for the design and production of integrated circuits with a component density of 200 :20,000 transistor gates, or computer chips that are very fast and very powerful and capable of more diverse functions. LSI has been supplanted by very-large-scale intregration which ups the component density to 10 million transistors. Looming on the horizon are ultralarge-scale integration and gigascale integration.
