Magnification

A measure of the relationship of the size of a reproduced image to the size of the original image, commonly by means of the formula

M = i/o

where M is the magnification factor, i is the size of the reproduced image, and o is the size of the original. Thus, an original image with a width of 4 inches that was reproduced with a width of 8 inches would have a magnification factor of 2.
