An inexpensive, uncoated paper grade manufactured primarily from groundwood or other mechanical pulp used for newspapers, and has high opacity, a good printing cushion, and is able to rapidly absorb ink, which makes it useful for high-speed web offset printing. Newsprint has a basic size of 24 x 36 in., and comes in basis weights from 28:35 pound, with 30-pound newsprint being the most widely used.
