Non-Linear Editing

In video production, a means of editing video clips by storing video images on a non-linear storage medium, such as a hard disk, videodisc, etc., and editing them together simply by indicating new edit in/out points and clip orders. In contrast, linear editing requires all clips to be physically placed in the correct order.
