Palette Shift

In computer graphics and imaging, an undesirable color change in a displayed image caused by the use of more colors than the monitor can effectively process. For example, an image created in RGB mode with a palette of millions of colors will not display accurately on a monitor capable of (or set to) only 256 colors.
