Quartz-Halogen Lamp

A light-source used in color scanners comprising a quartz envelope filled with halogen gas which uses a tungsten filament to illuminate the original image during scanning. Also known as a tungsten-halogen lamp. Quartz-Halogen lamps are also used in photographic studio lighting. Also known as a quartz-iodide light.
