Splice Failure

The breaking of a splice joining two sections of a paper web. A splice failure can be either paper-caused (an improperly made splice) or press-caused. Any splice made in which the two sections of the web are not in perfect alignment will cause wrinkling and perhaps a web break. (See Splice.)
