Stroke

In typography, the primary line or curve making up a letter or othger character.

Stroke is also a shorthand term for keystroke, or a single instance of a typewriter or keyboard key being depressed.

In phototypesetting and imaging, stroke also refers to a character image produced as a series of lines on a photosensitive material by means of a moving point of light.
