Tab

In typography, a column in which type—usually tabular material—is to be arranged, or the keyboard key used to jump to start points of columns.

In printing, a tab is a type of skid tag attached to stacks of printed sheets, used to indicate those sheets which are to be bound and/or folded separately from the rest.

In binding and finishing, tab is also an abbreviated term for an index tab. See Index Tab.
