Variable

In mathematics (specifically, the branch of mathematics known as algebra), a quantity that represents any value. Variables are used to describe general mathematical principles or functions.

In computer programming, variables are used in programs to represent data that will change. For example, a progrqam may be instructed to print A, in which case, A will represent whatever actual value the user has defined.
