Zero

A numeral (0) representing nothing when used alone, and a decimal position for tens, hundreds, thousand, etc., when used in combination with other numerals. The numeral zero is often confused with the letter "O," although in most typefaces they are designed somewhat differently. In some cases where confusion of the two characters is likely, a slash is put through the zero. (See also Figures.)
