Blank

Any unprinted substrate, be it paper, plastic film, a metal sign, or a fabric.

A blank is also a term for an order form that has yet to be filled in.

To blank means to omit printing on a certain portion of the substrate.

In binding and finishing, to blank means to blind emboss a substrate, or die-stamp it without adding coloration. See Embossing and Die-Stamping.
