Lipophilic

A quality of certain papers, components of paper, or the image areas of lithographic printing plates that causes them to have an affinity for oils and oil-based inks. Lipophilic substances are likely to repel water. Lipophilic substances are more commonly called oleophilic and are considered hydrophobic. (See also Lipophobic.)
