Tensile Strength

Catchall term for a paper's ability to withstand a stretching force. See Tensile Breaking Strength, Wet-Tensile Breaking Strength, Tensile-at-the-Fold, Tensile Energy Absorption, Wet Strength, and Z-Directional Tensile Strength.

'Tensile strength is also a general term describing the extent to which any substance or material can be stretched without breaking.
