A segmented ductor roller used in the inking system of some printing presses used in web offset lithography. Each segment of the undulating roller is set off-center with respect to the other sections. Thus, some segments are picking up ink from the fountain roller, while others are transferring ink to the rest of the roller train. The Aller undulating roller accurately controls the distribution of ink laterally across the press. See Inking System: Offset Lithography.
