Bump Plate

A means of adding extra-trinary colors to process color printing. A bump plate consists of an additional plate of cyan, magenta, or yellow, used to supplement the original CMY plates and increase the density range. See Extra-Trinary Color. (See also Color Substitution and Touch Plate.)
