Depth of Field

In photography, the range of distances from a lens in which objects are in focus, the object upon which the lens is focused being located within this range, and not being situated at either boundary of this zone. Altering the diameter of the iris changes the depth of field; reducing the iris diameter increases the depth of field while enlarging the iris diameter decreases the depth of field. Also known as depth of focus.
