Field Frequency

In television and video, the number of fields that an imaging system scans per second, approximately twice the frame rate, as there are two fields per frame. In NTSC (which scans at 29.7 frames per second) the field frequency is 59.94 Hertz, while in PAL and SECAM (which scan at 25 frames per second) the field frequency is 50 Hertz.
