PrintWiki/What PrintWiki is Not

PrintWiki is an online encyclopedia with the goal to provide a comprehensive, open-source knowledge base of information on the printing industry. There are certain things that PrintWiki is not.

PrintWiki articles should not roam outside the scope of printing industry. For example an article on the Clarus the dogcow is acceptable, but an article on the [WWW]Welsh Corgi, breeds of dogs is not acceptable.

PrintWiki is not a slang dictionary or jargon guide

PrintWiki is not a slang dictionary or jargon guide. Do not create an entry merely to define a slang term or industry jargon. Slang and industry jargon should be listed under their proper term.

PrintWiki is not a soapbox or your marketing department

PrintWiki is not a soapbox or a vehicle for marketing and advertising. PrintWiki articles should not include:

PrintWiki is not a repository of links

PrintWiki articles are not collections of external links or Internet directories. There is nothing wrong with adding one or more useful content-relevant links to an article. However, excessive lists of external links detract from the purpose of PrintWiki. If you want to build a directory of useful printing industry web pages, consider participating in the [WWW]Open Directory Project

PrintWiki is not an anarchy

PrintWiki has policies and guidelines that govern it.

PrintWiki is not an oligarchy

PrintWiki administrators will listen to any registered users thoughts and opinions discussed thru the appropriate Talk pages or email channels. After all it is you that will improve this site.
