Rewinding

A finishing operation performed at a papermill consisting of slitting and rewinding a large, finished paper roll into smaller rolls for delivery to the customer. Rewinding procedures include such operations as slitting machine rolls to make rolls having a specified width and/or diameter, winding on specially-constructed cores, removing paper containing defects and splicing rolls back together, and packaging rolls for delivery.
