In papermaking, finishing is a general term for the final processes performed to prepare paper for delivery to the customer after the papermaking process has been completed. This can include adjusting the paper's finish via such operations as supercalendering, embossing, or coating, or such final preparations as rewinding, sheeting, trimming, and packaging.
