One of several devices attached to the feedboard of a sheetfed printing press that, in tandem with a registration plate, aids in laterally positioning a sheet of paper before transfer into the printing unit. A side guide can comprise either a roller, a pivoting foot, or a suction-powered plate. See Feedboard.
