FOCOLTONE

A color matching system used to specify and match process colors. The FOCOLTONE Color System consists of samples of 763 four-color combinations of the process colors, in single tints of all four inks from 5% to 85%. On the FOCOLTONE charts, each line contains a four-color process color and the 14 combinations that can be produced from it—four single colors, six combinations of two colors, and four combinations of three colors.

The FOCOLTONE system is supported by most of the commonly-used page layout programs, such as QuarkXPress and PageMaker, to name two. (See also PANTONE and TRUMATCH.)
