Methyl Ethyl Ketone

A fast-drying but flammable organic solvent—chemical formula C4H8O—in the ketone family used in flexographic printing inks. It will readily dissolve nitrocellulose and vinyl lacquers, but will cause swelling of Buna N synthetic rubber and, in large amounts, natural rubber. Methyl ethyl ketone, abbreviated MEK, is also known as butanone.
