Purple

A color which exists strictly as an intermediate between red and blue, or as the complementary—or opposite—of yellow. The color purple doesn't exist in the spectrum of light, as it has no dominant wavelength, being formed only as a mixture of red and blue. It is often incorrectly confused with violet.
